Most people agree that cats are wonderful animals. A lot thinks that cats are easy to keep. Naturally we agree with that. Breeders need to have a more thorough understanding of the cat, its living conditions, its needs, genetics, health and generally what is required to give the cat a good life. This is particular important for a rare breed like the Ocicat.

This is reflected in many ways in our cattery. Lately DK Mandix has completed G2, which is a course at PawAcademy – a part of PawPeds that we also use.

G2 can be considered an introductory course in cat breeding and the plan is to continue with G3 when this is offered the next time. The full contents of G2 can be seen here.

“This course is running over nine weeks. Also at this course the students will read articles, do tests, write, and solve problems related to the articles, in groups as well as individually. Note that some group work is obligatory!” (from the course description). Completing the course requires substantial effort and is not done just with an evenings work.
