Some of you know that we have been on holiday on a cruise.

This was naturally very exiting and a new way for us to spend our vacation. As we were a small party it all had to be planned well in advance and indeed before we moved to London. So one of the challenges of moving to London was to find a solution to what we should do with our cats while on vacation. We did seriously consider not leaving Denmark before the cruise as we were certain that we had a number of qualified and dedicated cat lovers that could take care of our three ocicats.

We were recommended to use Pam Wallis of Your Happy Cats who among others is a professional cat sitter. We started by simply asking her if she was available for the period. Though Mrs. Wallis was highly recommended I had a long chat with her. She had no previous experience with breeders or ocicats. The latter was not a problem and the fact that we have several cats was not at all a problem – she was used to dealing with many cats. I had several talks with her on the phone and Mrs. Wallis seemed to understand cats and cat behaviour very well. The final decision was made after Karin had at long visit at Mrs. Wallis. Pam Wallis was both qualified and could be trusted. That was a relief to us. It was one more worry that we could strike out from the list of challenges.

Mrs. Wallis was not used to giving cats the pill but she solved it in an ingenious way. By the end of the week all the cats liked their “new owner” and even though I am sure they missed us; life wasn’t so bad. Mrs. Wallis was very meticulous and apart from taking care of the cats she also watered our many plants. We look forward to the tomatoes that are ready to be eaten in a week’s time.

If you live in the South East of London and need a cat sitter then don’t hesitate to use Your Happy Cats. Feel free to contact me in advance to discuss any queries or concerns you may have.
